Default Has anyone contacted Nvidia???

This information is outdated. Do not use.If you need assistance please start a new thread.

I cant seem to find anywhere on nvidias site about contacting them about there lastest driver and how they lock up GW. I can only play GW using the 66.93 drivers, btw on a 6600GT. But i also play a game called Day of Defeat Source. Im sure some of you might play this game too. Well Nvidia came out with drivers that improve the frame rate in DoD:s but the new drivers lock up GW. So now im stuck on which game i want to play. And in order for me to play either game i have to uninstall the drivers and load the other drivers.
Is there a way to change between drivers with outhave to uninstall one or least contact Nvidia about there drivers and there effect on GW?

Thanks for your time.

yup tried those too, in fact those mess up the textures to huge squares, you see the terrian as blocks/patches of squares.

Im not the only one that has problems with the lastest Nvidia drivers am i?

I have a GeForce 6800 Ultra and have had ZERO problems with ANY Nvidia drivers and GW. I highly suggest you start checking your system out first.

Have you done a memory test, is your power supply putting out enough, is your video card defective?

It's not Nvidia's fault YOUR system doesn't work...my THREE Nvidia-based systems (5200, 6800, 6800U) ALL work beautifully. It even ran (albeit slowly) on my older ATI Radeon mobility integrated chip.

I have the same problem with the latest beta drivers. The terrain texture is messed up when you enter a new area. It can be fixed by entering the options menu and changing any graphics option (e.g. antialiasing) so that the graphics reload.

Try turning off your vertical sync...or maybe there might just be a hardware confliction. My 7800 GT looks more sexy than I could ever imagine in both DoD: Source and GW.

why not use the latest forceware drivers? (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_78.01.html) dodsource works fine, and gw runs great for me. I'm on a 7800gtx though, but not sure why 6600 would be any different

I'm running 77.77 drivers on Nvidia 5700 Ultra and everything is working perfectly.

Maybe run a driver cleaner program in case some left over files are causing problems. http://www.drivercleaner.net/ Before installing any new drivers.

Did all that too, i guess its just a prob with my Gigabyte video card. I cant get help from them cause they say to talk to game makers and or nvidia, i talked to the GW ppl and they said to talk to Nvidia and then i go to Nvidia site and they have no help support for there drivers. I guess ill have to play one game and then get bored if it and change drivers to play another game.

But has to be a driver issue cause if old drivers work fine in GW and new ones dont then has to be a drivers issue. And i cant play DoD:s without the there 78.05 beta drivers, they really improve the frame rate for DoD:s. I can tell when drivers are going to conflict with GW cause the terrian and background kinda flicker a few times. And then when it does freeze the game with lock up and freeze and then about 10 sec later the game with come back but with speed up the action i missed kinda wanting to catch up. And other times it will lock up and then i can heard my character walking if i used the keyboard. Maybe in the future new drivers will work with both.

Thanks for the help though guys and gals.

I've been having the same blocky terrain textures since I've started playing GW again. I am using the latest Nvidia beta drivers, v81.84, but those are the only ones I can use to play any Steam games due to a crashing issue, this is especially prevelant to GeForce 6200 cards which I have.

It's definately a driver issue and we just need to wait for an update for GW or updated graphics drivers.

Probably the best thing to do at this point is to just report it as a bug in-game till the message comes thru loud and clear.

Ahh... the life of a gamer....

I've had a few problems with my nvidia card. It ended up being that I didn't have a big enough power supply. Make sure your system has the right reqs for the card.

I got a 6600GT the other day and it came with forceware version 77.72, that runs GW perfectly, with everything maxed out.

I have a 500w psu. So far i can only guess that its a vid driver issue cause one driver works perfect as new ones dont. I would stick to ones that work but like i said in order for me to play DoD:s on my system fine i need to use the new beta DoD:s drivers. So i just have to pick what game i want to play for while i guess. That or get a new mother board cause i updated bios and drivers for everything i can.

I'm having the same problem on my parent's computer (playing on that til I build my own after xmas)...I think they have a 6600, I know for a fact it's a Nvidea GeForce. GW played perfect fine on the original drivers, then once I updated the drivers, now I'll get lags here and there and especially on the shield-sword animation for mission/bonus completion. I rolled them back once (updated the drivers 2-3 times since they NEVER updated them and were on a 6.6.6.# driver), still have the same problem, so I've got to ask a friend how to roll them back again.

BTW, I updated them to try to fix the B&W2 problem of no fur, and while B&W2 played fine on the original driver, the new drivers also made that lag horribly as well. :/ I gotta say, I'm usually an avid Nvidea fan but this is making me think about switching to ATI for the comp I'm building.

Is the lag you guys are seeing a _very_ brief 'stutter' roughly once every second?

If so, try going in to start/settings/add & remove programs, and uninstall all nvidia programs _except_ "NVidia drivers".

I had those stutters, and found that it was caused by the desktop managing program polling the system. Removing the desktop manager removed the problem.

FWIW, I have a MSI 6800gt and run the 78.01 WHQL drivers from nvidias homepage.

Hi There

Just wondering if anyone might be able to suggest why my Geforce FX5200 card causes the terrain to stretch out at really weird angles. Doesnt happen all the time but can be really frustrating as it blocks the view of my character and/or enemies. I've downloaded the latest update from the Nvidia site but that hasnt helped.

Thanks
